“Our church is funky!”
Dance Church is a popular monthly event held on Sundays. We journey via music and minimal direction inward towards our own truth, then outward to discover what it means to be in community on the dance floor. What we understand about ourselves and others on the dance floor is a metaphor for all that happens in the every day dance of our lives. Nothing is needed, no experience or steps or fancy dress, just a love of dance and a willingness to let go.
Dance Church is a Sunday offering – a safe place to inwardly explore and celebrate the Divine mystery along side others in community doing the same. With clear intention and sprinklings of direction, Caroline S’Jegers will set the stage for participants to find their own truth, fostering an atmosphere of acceptance, honesty and joy.
ABOUT Caroline S’Jegers
Caroline S’Jegers, the founder of ‘ícaro events’, is a dedicated Conscious Dance entrepreneur and trainer. She is the co-organizer of Ecstatic Dance Belgium and travels around the world with her (he)ART – from teaching workshops to DJ’ing and leading dance ceremonies at diverse Ecstatic Dance communities and Conscious Club events.
For Caroline, movement is the key to living a life full of surprise and pleasure: “Music moves and shapes me. It makes me fall in love with dance – again and again – and inspires me to create from a place of utter presence. On the dance floor – as in life – magic happens.”The sounds of DJ CaroLine can be summarized in three words: uplifting, deep and soulful. She uses a variety of musical ingredients – from shamanic rhythms to swinging melodies, from deep-tribal grooves to heart-opening mantras and from raw dubstep beats to soft poetic vocals – and mixes them into a musical journey. Your heart will expand. Your skin will soften. And every cell in your body will celebrate.

DANCE CHURCH is een heerlijke smooth zondagochtend waarin we het leven vieren via de dans,
en waarbij de muziek je meeneemt op een reis naar beweging, ont-moeting, ont-spanning en verbinding.
We openen de dansvloer voor alle creatieve danslovers onder ons:
bewegers, yogi’s en yogini’s, muzikanten en dakini’s, tekenfreaks, contact impro dansers, ochtend- en avondmensen, meditatie liefhebbers, jong en oud!
DANCE CHURCH heeft als enige ‘religie’:
– het lichaam als heiligdom
– de muziek als medicijn
– de dans als meditatie
Je wordt meegenomen en begeleid – via woord en muziek –
onder de facilitatie van bewegingsfluisterares en DJ
Caroline S’Jegers (DJ CaroLine) en guests!
Iedereen is welkom, want bewegen doe je sowieso!
Neem voldoende water en gemakkelijke kledij mee.

Tijdens deze dansreis kan je in- en uitstromen wanneer je wil, en volg je volgende richtlijnen:
1. BEWEEG ZOALS JE WIL.
Je hebt geen danservaring nodig, elke beweging is een dans!
2. ER WORDT NIET GEPRAAT OP DE DANSVLOER.
Na het dansen kan je gezellig napraten en iets drinken.
3. RESPECTEER JEZELF EN DE ANDEREN.
Dance Church is wat je er zelf van maakt, in community en vanuit liefde voor en via de dans!

Over Caroline S’Jegers:
Caroline S’Jegers is al jaren onderneemster en organisatrice binnen de ‘Conscious Clubbing’ scene in binnen- en buitenland. Ze is de co-creator, DJ en dansdocente bij Ecstatic Dance België (via Universa vzw) en reist de wereld rond om haar creatieve stroming via muziek en dans te delen met andere gepassioneerden. Daarnaast heeft Caroline een eigen praktijk als Creatieve Coach – waarin ze anderen stimuleert op hun eigen unieke, creatieve weg.
